No one knew about the girl behind the mask she had put on. As a matter of fact, she was incredibly quiet, analytical, and enjoyed a good book once in a while. Her passion was chemistry, and she had gotten straight A's. No one knew about this girl because society would take one look at her appearance and judge her on the fake tan that had been caked on her arms and legs and the bronzer that had concealed every inch of pasty skin she truly had.

Whenever someone was in the bathroom with her, she would have to secretly slip in her retainer. In the morning, she would get up before the others in her cabin to take a shower, apply a new tan and hide the rest of her flaws. It was every day this girl had to live a lie, and she was just about tired of it…

No one knew the real Anne Maria.

She had been fixing her lavender eyeliner in the mirror as a teammate had walked out of a bathroom stall. Of all teammates, it had to be the redheaded girl, Zoey. Anne Maria didn't like her. Zoey was way too happy all the time, and she had tried so hard to get everyone to like her. That was how Anne was before…

"Hey, Anne-"

The Jersey shore Reject had looked at the other. It wasn't a direct glance, but more so in the mirror. She grimaced at Zoey, and then returned to fixing her eyeliner. Her thoughts had caused her to become a little more distant than what she normally was, and it was showing.

"Anne Maria? Are you alright?" Zoey bit her lip as she dried her hands on a paper towel. Something was quite off, but she couldn't place what it was.

"Go away."

"You seem kind of-"

"I said GO AWAY." Anne Maria shot a look directly at Zoey this time. Her eyebrows were furrowed and her brown eyes were narrowed. She let out a low growl as though it was a warning. Otherwise, she could attack. Zoey had taken notice of that and left her alone.

The tan teenager sighed and looked again at herself in the mirror. What had she become? More importantly, what had she been FORCED to become? It was as if she was one of those idiotic people from Jersey Shore. Not like that Snooki character though. She had respect for her. Letting out a loud, frustrated sigh, Anne Maria had walked out of the bathroom. Besides the latest spritz of hairspray, the brunette was deep into thought. She had bumped into a taller person. "Sorr…"

Mike. She had bumped into Mike.
