Scattered sparks

The second the words were out, Lisbon regretted them. She loved to get a rise out of Jane, especially because it was so hard to do. But she never intended to hurt him; and making him think that she was sorry she knew him wasn't fair.
After all, he was right. She had no intention of talking about her biggest regret; not with anyone. Knowing Jane, he probably knew what it was anyway, so why say anything?
Patrick happily ignored the emotional sting. So she dragged her thoughts from Sam Bosco again, focusing on the case. Learning to move on.
