This is my first THG fanfic that I've posted on this website, so please R&R! Disclaimer- I don't have anything to do with The Hunger Games or any of its characters.

*Finnick's pov*

I walk onto the beach and immediately see Annie sitting by the water, staring off into space. She has been back from her Games for almost a week and she still hasn't said a word to anyone.

I should've expected that this would've happened. That she wouldn't be the same; no one really is. But Annie was so outgoing and talkative that the last thing you would expect would be that she would be silent.

"Annie," I whisper when I'm next to her. She doesn't answer. "I know you're in there somewhere. You can't stay in your mind forever." I say a few moments later.

"I don't know what I can do about it, Finn." Annie whispers.

I look at her and give her a sad smile. "There's nothing you can do, but you can let others in and let them help you." I say.

Annie moves closer to me and I put my arm around her shoulders. "I don't think I trust anyone enough to do that, Finn." she says. "Who can I trust?" Annie's green eyes look into mine.

"Well, you can trust me. And Mags." I say.

"Oh, Finnick... I just don't know what to say. I wish I did." she says.

"Just say what you're thinking, Annie." I say.

"Isn't that the same thing I told you a few years ago?" Annie asks, starting to smile. That smile that I love to see, especially on her.

"Yeah." I say, smiling right back at her.

"I love your smile, Finn." Annie says.

"Yours is beautiful, Annie." I say, pulling her in a hug.

*Annie's pov*

Finnick's hug is warm and gentle, very much unlike my mind. I rest my head on his shoulder, not wanting this moment to ever end.

"Finnick, please don't ever leave me." I whisper.

"I wish I could promise you that, Annie, I really do. But I will have to leave you sometime," he says, tilting my head up so we look into each other's eyes. Finnick's eyes are so gentle and loving that it's hard not to love them. "And when I have to, I will be thinking about you the whole time, Annie. Do you know why?"

"Why?" I ask.

"Because I love you, Annie. You are the only person I could ever love." Finnick says. His lips connect with mine and I run my fingers through his hair. Finnick pulls back and looks up at the sky. "It's getting late, Annie. We should head back home."

"Okay, Finn." I say, grabbing his hand and walking back home with him.
