When Alfred was drafted for the war, he was pretty sad since he wouldn't be able to see his girl. Long legs, a sweet smile, every guys dream. But at least he got to the bugle to wake up his fellow soldiers.
It's what he looks forward to, even if it's the only thing he could look forward to, with people dieing left to right and not being with his girl.
The commander kinda understood where he was coming from, in World War one, he had to do the same thing, at least he had other people to help him.
So, he got a band. Now, the soldiers stand up attention when he plays! He could really get a beat and could make anyone smile with his playing.
He was known as the dancing fool of company B. He could put his company to sleep with dancing, but could make them get up bright and early like every soldier should.
Alfred had to thank his commander, he needed a beat to play out his heart! It made everyone around him forget the war for the few minutes that he played.
But then, he got known around the army, even marines wanted to hear him play! Later than that, people at home knew about him, even his girl. His parents, even though it was unexpected were proud of him. Even his English brother, Arthur, smiled when he heard this news.
