I grabbed my stuffy and my backpack, I looked around the little room and sighed, this is it... no turning back I closed the door and ran down the stairs. " Here sweetheart" mommy handed me my mask that helped me to not breathe in too much bad air, I grabbed the surgical mask and pulled it on.
" Let's get you to grandma's!" Daddy exclaimed." When can I come back?" Daddy sighed." When your sickness gets better. Okay? I promise." We climbed into our small car. " I promise I will send letters and flowers all the time." I said as I glanced out the window, as we passed by the big buildings and cars and people. " Okay sweetheart, we promise to write to you too." Mommy half-grinned.
We parked in front of grandma's house. "Where are the other cars?" I looked up at my mom as my hand reached hers. "They use horses here Ying " Daddy smiled as he grabbed my hand " Can I take my mask off mommy?" Mommy nodded as she blinked back tears. "No mommy don't cry!" I frowned. Mommy kneeled in front of me once we were inside. " Be strong be brave and be you. As soon as you are better I promise you that you will then come home." She wrapped her arms around me. I nodded and then I saw grandma walk in. I've been waiting for this day that I'd get to see my granddaughter again!" She smiled down at me."Hey Mom!" Daddy grinned,
Mommy just nodded. Grandma took my hand " We will have loads fun!" she said to me. I began to feel a little reassured that everything would turn out fine. I hugged mommy and daddy and then watched them drive away as I stood there watching our small Honda civic drive away, I felt a piece of me was in that car and I was soon blinking back tears " Don't cry Ying, I'm here for you." Grandma whispered as she lifted my chin. I reached for my grandma and I began to sob "I miss them grandma!" I whined "I know dear, I know" she pat my back and held me as I shook in her arms.
