Loyalty
My master is on a quest
To revive the girl he loved
I watch as he climbs
Up the cliffs above
He's going to fight another of those beasts
To fulfill his deal
Dormin will revive the girl
If my master breaks the seal
I do not trust Dormin
It gives a feeling I can barely stand
It's a feeling that I have had
Since I entered this cursed land
I could have refused to enter
But my master needed me so
He trusts me and I trust him
So I go where he goes
Together we have traveled
As he rode on my back
And we have faced many obstacles
As they began to stack
I have seen some of the creatures
When my master needed me
Like when he faced the big-eyed one
From the underground sand sea
My instincts often tell me
To run far away
But if my master calls me
By his side I will stay
When my master slays one of the creatures
The darkness takes him away
But I always sense him back at the temple
When he awakes the next day
The bond I have with my master is deep
My destiny is tied with that man
So I try to help him
As much as I possibly can
If only I was a human
Instead of a mere horse
Then I could do more to help him
And I could talk to him, of course
But you can't change what you are
It's a fact I cannot change
Yet, I still found ways to help him
As much as I could possibly manage
That is why I threw
My master from my back
As the bridge below my feet
Shattered from the cracks
But I was unable to save myself
It was much too late
I could only neigh
As I fell down to my fate
I don't know I survived
By all rights, I should be dead
But I'm still alive somehow
And suffer from a broken leg
I manage to get up
Despite my great pain
And now I am limping
Across the vast plain
I must go to the temple
I must meet my master there
But I feel something strange
Stirring in the air
My senses are telling me
Something is very wrong
But despite my instincts
My loyalty pulls me along
With each painful step I take
I feel a dark energy swirl
But if anything happens to my master
I vow I will watch over the girl
