After months of debating and worrying he decided it was time. No more hiding, or sneaking a chance to just watch her type the next editorial.

Today he decided, "I should just go for it". She was working on another issue of the torch when he walked into the office with only one thing in mind. Without even turning around she asked if he had his column ready for the new issue, and he felt his confidence waver. "How could I do this to her, no warning, no big build up to the expressing of feelings. Wasn't that how it was supposed to go?" he thought to himself.

"Clark?" Her voice broke him out of his thoughts, "Please don't say you forgot again." When he heard what she was saying he realized she had taken his silence as a negative response. "Let me guess, you had to help Lana with something, right? You know what if you're going to abandon every assignment I give you maybe you shouldn't…" But he cut her of, and showed her the paper he was holding in his hand.

"Oh," was all she said before she walked over to take it from him in order to read and edit it. But when she was close enough to take it from him he reached forward and pulled her toward him, pausing a moment to look in her eyes before lowering his lips to hers.

Gently and tenderly kissing her before backing away and waiting for a response.
