The girl stood, clad in a flowing black kimono painted with flowers, her hair illuminated by the golden sunset as it was swept by the gentle breeze from the river.

He gazed at her at her out of the corner of his eye, and as she noticed this, she turned towards him to nervously ask "What?"

He continued to stare without reply, so she once again asked "What?" with a slight blush coloring her cheeks.

He turned his head and gave her a warm smile, and she shyly returned the gesture. As she did so, he finally responded to the twice-asked question.

"Nothing. I was just thinking that you look really good in that kimono."

"Th…thank you…" she quietly said, turning back to the river with the same expression still on her face.

He moved closer to her, and silently grasped her hand.

Surprised, she turned towards him, and as she did, he captured her lips in a soft kiss.

When he broke away, he embraced her and whispered in her ear "I love you."

Caught off guard, yet completely prepared for that moment, she simply replied with the truth.

"I love you too."
