Moz favourite Suit moment.
June had invited Peter and Elizabeth to dine with Neal, Mozzie and her, as a thank you, and to celebrate that Samantha was back on the donor list.
They had eaten a fabulous dinner and was drinking excellent wine, lingering over the dessert. Peter was relaxed and slightly buzzed when began pontificating, as he was wont to do on occasion, about honest living and just rewards, he rounded it off with the statement "that crime does not pay" and then looked around the table as if he was waiting for the others to confirm to his view.
Moz would never know if the Suit took their lowered eyes as submission to his judgement or if he realized that there was another reason they had difficulty meeting his eyes.
Neal discreetly dabbed his eyes as he apologised for the coughing fit, from suddenly swallowing wine down the wrong pipe. Mozzie had to hastily excuse himself form the room before he collapsed in laughter.
The incident only confirmed June as the best con in the room, when she calmly offered Peter the last of the dessert, even though it wasn't just.
The dinner party broke up soon thereafter.
As Neal saw Peter and Elizabeth into a cab, he felt a surge of affection for this moral man, who in a mansion paid for by crime, surrounded by beautiful artefacts, antiques and art paid for by crime, eating and drinking a marvellous meal paid for by crime, with the exception of his wife, in the company of criminals, could say with 100% conviction that crime didn't pay.
