Okay, okay, starting the story…

Iain had just managed to escape his mother's fussing. It's not that he didn't like it, to an extent, but it wasn't like he was leaving the country or anything! It was just the first day of middle school! Besides, it wasn't like he didn't know the people who were in that school; most of the people who were his classmates in primary, were the same people.

Francis was going to be in his school too, but Iain wasn't exactly sure if that was a good thing or not, despite the Frenchman being his best friend. He had heard his mother mumble something about the Bonnefoys ruining him, but Francis' mother seemed to pay no mind to that. She laughed, and pulled his mother into a hug. Or at least… he thought it was a hug… His mother didn't struggle and look all angry when he hugged her…

He broke from his thoughts of his mother, when he saw a girl with extremely long greenish-blonde hair, standing under a tree, and looking at the crowds of people streaming into the building. She kind of looked like a ditzy Rapunzel. He fought through the crowds, towards this girl. He was just a bit curious about her.

As he got closer, he realized she was very, very tall. Was she a senior? She was also very well groomed, with her long her clean and silky, and her clothes obviously ironed. She didn't notice him approaching her, though; she was smiling off into the distance.

"Hey," he said. He grinned when she jolted, and looked around. Her watery green eyes settled on him, and she smiled warmly.

"Hi!" she chirped, bouncing on her heels.

"Are ya okay, lass? Ya look lost."

"Aye! I'm jus' a bi' lost! It's me firs' day, ya see~ I'm jus' startin' middle school."

Iain blinked. "… Really?" She looked a lot older than that.

"Aye! Ya look new tae, I think~! I'm Nessie, wha's yer name?"

"Iain. So, we're in the same grade, aye? Why'd ya move tae this school?" On closer examination, it was obvious that this girl was very well off, unlike most of the kids that would be entering this school.

"Oh! I wanted tae!" … Well, he thought, tha's sure a great reason. "Oh, I think class is startin' soon, we better ge' goi-" She paused. "… I forgot what classroom I was in." She looked around frantically, as though expecting the answer to be on the school walls, or on a tree.

Iain couldn't help but grin. She was just so… hopeless. "We're probably in the same class, c'mon." He made a gesture for her to follow him. He was a bit surprised when, as she obliged, she clung to his arm. He stared at her, and she stared back, her gaze innocent. He just shook his head slightly, with a smile, before leading her off into the building.

Well, this was sure to be an interesting year.
