Delanie had fallen asleep on the couch waiting for her parents to come home. The T.V. was still on and it was already well past 1 A.M. A sudden knock at the door woke Delanie from her slumber. When she opened the door, she saw a police officer who would change her life as she knows it.
"Are you Ms. Delanie Reid?" the officer asked.
"Yes I am," Delanie replied.
"Please have a seat Delanie," the officer instructed. Delanie sat back down on the couch. "I regret to inform you that your parents were killed in an automobile accident."
"What? How? This can't be!" Delanie exclamed, at age seventeen, this information is just too much to process at 1:50 A.M.
"A drunk driver colided head on with them. They were DOA. We have already contatced your cousin whom you are to live with."
"Cousin? I don't have a cousin."

Spencer Reid and the rest of the BAU team had just gotten back to Quantico from Hopeulikit, Georgia after returning a young girl to her family and putting her kidnapper behind bars. Reid stayed outside the building to answer a call while the others went in to the office. After the call, Reid entered the building with a confused look on his face.
"What's going on Reid? You look confused," Rossi inquired about his young colleague.
"Reid confused? It must be the end of the world," laughed Morgan.
"Well apparently I am now the guardian of a cousin I didn't know I had," Reid replied.
