Fortunato's start

Drunk, disoriented, and confused, Fortunato struggles around. In total darkness he sighs, closing his eyes once again. Seeing a mystical light he reaches his hands towards it, finding he is no longer trapped. Stepping inside the light, blinded but excited about what could be on the other side. Fortunato never knew how long he had been inside his tomb, but it never stopped him from hoping for a glass of sweet wine, or a mere piece of meat. Excited to get out, he slipped coming from his stone prison, falling and falling into the chasm below.

As he fell, he noticed how fast his eyes had adjusted to the bright lights, and mystical colors around him. From the corner of his eye, he sees a wisp of a tail; a rabbit, or maybe a hare? Not something he would have imagined seeing in his first few minutes of being free. Nearing the ground, he braces for impact, yelping as his face comes in contact with the dirt. Surprised that he wasn't injured from the thirty-foot drop; he stands up, sought out to find the animal.

Walking along the dirt path, he spots the little white animal. Fortunato gazed upon the creature with interest. The creature stared back with equal vigor. Eventually, Fortunato mustered the confidence to utter words to the rabbit. "In where are we?" spoke Fortunato. The hare replied with a subtle shake of the head, a stretch of the legs, and a "Who knows?" in a voice which reminded Fortunato of his father.
