"Hello Dean."

Those had been some of the best words the hunter had heard in weeks. He was back. It took much too long to get him here, but he was back. Dean prayed to Castiel, each and every night, catching him up on everything that he had been missing, and maybe – just maybe, telling him how much he longed for him to come back to he and Sam. Back to him.

"We have a home now. You can stay with us, you'll be safe."

Every night, those exact same words were said. Sam had tried, like the little brother he had always been, but that wasn't what he needed. He needed his angel back. But now – it was like all his dreams had come true. His prayers were answered. He didn't know how to react, his heart was overflowing with joy. Without a second's hesitation, he had grabbed Cas, pulled him into his arms, and held his as close as he could, for as long as he could. "Cas" He breathed, a smile gracing his lips. He couldn't wrap his head around it.

His angel was home

"You said… you said that you had a home, Dean. And after what happened I – I might need a place to reside for a while." He stepped back, avoiding Dean's gaze.

"Cas, buddy, you don't even have to ask. Of course you can stay here. You're family. Are you hungry? I'll make you a burger." Dean said as he ushered Cas to the couch. He knew very well that angels didn't need to eat, but even more so, he knew that his angel liked burgers. Hurrying into the kitchen, Dean hustled to make Cas a burger. His nesting instinct had taken over, and he needed to make sure that he did everything that he could to make Castiel happy while he stayed in the bunker.

With his beautiful finished burger in hand, he returned to Cas, who was mindlessly flipping through John's journal. "Where'd you get that?" Dean asked, sliding the burger onto the table nearest to Castiel.

"It was in your room."

"Yeah, I know that, but why did you go and get it?"

"I like reading your fathers writing. And it's enjoyable to read about you as a child." He said, blushing after noticing the grin on Dean's face.

"You're a nut Cas." Dean laughed, settling down next to him. When he did, Castiel immediately scooted himself closer to him. Dean had to refrain himself from putting his arm around the angel, and holding him close. It seemed so long ago that he and his angel were together, just the two of them, and he wanted to bask in every minute of it. It was like something he had heard in one of Bobby's old TV shows. One may tolerate a world of demons for the sake of an angel. Dean had done his time, he'd paid his dues, and now he wanted to be able to settle down with his very own angel.

The angel he loved.

"You like the burger Cas?" He asked, casually putting his arm around him.

"Oh yes Dean. Superb job." Cas replied, taking another bite of the burger.

He slid closer to Dean, and the two of them sat, wrapped up in each other until the sun rose.
