P.S: My first angst story.

It was obvious that they were an odd couple. She was pretty sure that there was a rule somewhere in the universe that bans hero/villian relationships. Even if there wasn't, she's smart enough to know that any relationship with a hero would end up a disaster.

But with the thought of the daughter of Trigon the Terrible lying in bed, face so white that it rivals the sheet that she lies on and nothing but machines pumping life into the fragile body, none of that matters. Nothing matters anymore. She didn't care about the Titans standing guard outside of Raven's room. She didn't care that the Titans disapproves of her relationship with Raven. She didn't care that being with Raven goes against anything and everything that the Titans or even her own team believes in.

All she cares about is being able to sit by Raven's bedside, grasping the pale hand while hoping desperately for the ability to turn back time. To be able to interfere with the sharp blade that had plunged into Raven's chest instead of watching as her lover fell bonelessly to the ground. She could vividly remember the heavy rain torrenting down, mixing with the reddish liquid that had pooled under Raven's body. Tears streamed down her cheeks as she recalled how sore her throat became as she screamed out Raven's name while struggling against her captors.

The Titans came in too late and she would never forgive them for it. Not like they'll beg her for forgiveness anyway. They would most likely be relieved that they would be able to see less of her.

If her lover wasn't lying in bed on the verge of death, she would be laughing at the irony of the situation. She's supposed to be the bad guy and yet she has to blame the good guys for not coming in time to save their other good teammate. A normal villain would be practicing their evil laughs right about now. Then again, a normal villain's not romantically attached to the said heroine that's lying on her death bed.

With tears still trickling down her face, she sighed as she penned down her last thoughts in her precious (stolen) book:

Falling in love is not so hard. It's falling deeply and hopelessly in love with someone whom you're not supposed to that's gonna come back and bite you in the ass. But every second spent in Raven's arms was worth it and will be cherished within the deepest recessess of my mind. As much as it sounds cliche, it's true. Without Raven in my life, nothing matters.

Who knew she had a way with words right?
