Chapter One: The Baudelaire's in Hollywood

This story is about the Baudelaire's. Their parents had perished in a fire that destroyed their entire home, and they've been orphans ever since. They have been sent from place to place, guardian to guardian. But one of the worst guardians is a man named Count Olaf. He had been trying to murder the children and swindle them out of their fortune forever.

This morning however, the Baudelaire's had arrived in Hollywood in the year 1939. Klaus the middle child said to his sister, "Violet, we've been on the run from the authorities for a long time." Klaus loved to read books, and before their house burned down, read almost everyone. Violet, the eldest Baudelaire said, "I know Klaus, but we can't go to another guardian." Violet loved to invent, and when someone sees her tie her hair up in a ribbon, then they would think, 'Oh, what a lovely hairstyle.' But unbeknownst to them, her mind would really be thinking of an invention.

Then there is Sunny, the youngest Baudelaire, who replied "Fiti," which probably meant, "Where are we?" Sunny, loved to bite, she had four sharp teeth, which had helped them in many situations, like when they were stuck in an Ersatz Elevator with no way of getting out, she used her teeth and climbed up the sides of the elevator.

Klaus replied, "I'm not sure Sunny, but it seems like…Hollywood!" "Hollywood?!" Violet replied sharing the same excitement as her siblings. They knew that Hollywood is where all the famous movies are made. Then they heard singing.

?: Hollywood, where the streets are paved with gold! Where the kitties never grow old, in Hollywood! Hollywood, where the stars don't shine at night, they walk around in the broad daylight, in Hollywood!

"Makes me want to sing," Klaus said.

Klaus: Dig that face, ya ain't seen nothin' like it anyplace, it's right up on the movie screen, if you know what I mean.

?: Look at me I'm gonna be the cat to see, I'm goin' down in history just watch me!

The Baudelaire's after looking for the singer, were amazed to see a talking cat. Violet then asked the cat, "What's your name." The cat startled said, "Oh, I'm Danny, nice to meet ya. You in town to get a movie role too?" "No," Klaus responded. "Just escaping some trouble…where are you getting a role at?" Danny responded, "Here at, 'Farley Wink Animal Actors Agency.' I hear he gets good parts for animals." Violet, agreeing said, "I think the most unlucky part would be hanging from a hook."

"Gah," Sunny said which probably meant, "Well at least it's a part," or it could've meant, "Or being tied to a train track." "Well, would ya like to join me?" Danny asked. They all nodded, and went inside the building, but little did they know that more misfortune would inevitably follow.
