"No Shiara!" Daystar said. "I'm not going to bother you or Kazul with Enchanted
Forest Problems. The Mountains of Morning have enough problems with them as it
is."
"OK Daystar, If you don't want to talk about them right now we won't. What about
the other stuff you said was bugging you?"
"Ugh! Mother and Father want to send me off to Herman for 'Proper Royal Training'.
Yuck! I saw all those brats he has at the party after we found father. I don't want to go
learn from him."
"Aren't you learning all the 'royal etiquette' from Willin?"
"Yes, it's boring."
"And isn't your father teaching you about the forest and magic and that stuff?"
"Yeah, that is the only fun part of my lessons. What are you getting at??" Daystar
asked.
"Well," Shiara replied, "The only thing you're missing is the diplomatic part."
"Soooo???"
"You come to the Mountains of Morning and learn diplomacy from Kazul."
"Oh. Do you think that will work?"
"I know Kazul won't mind. We can have her ask your mother and father at Morwen &
Telemaim's wedding."
"Oh no!! Not the wedding!!!!" exclaimed Daystar.
"Now what's wrong?" asked Shiara.
"Oh it's just that I have to make sure that the meadow stays in place for the wedding
and I have never tried to do that on my own and if I mess up father will kill me."
"Daystar! Have a little faith in yourself! You'll do fine."
"Shiara,…" Daystar started.
"Daystar, …"
"No Shiara, let me finish. Shiara, I don't want you to go back, stay here where I can
protect you. I know that you are safe when you're with Kazul. But it is your trip back
to the Mountain and when Kazul isn't around that scares me."
"Daystar, you're scaring me. What do you mean??"
"I can't keep it from you any more Shiara. It's the wizards. They are trying to steal
the magic of the forest again. And I am afraid that they will try and use you to get to
me to make father give them the forest."
"Daystar….."
