Whether it be Wutai, the Turks, or even with AVALANCHE. It wasn't like that at first. They used to be their own person. Do what they want, when they wanted. Yuffie, especially. But as time went on, that quickly changed. They became toy soldiers for a war they didn't really want to fight.

Yuffie lay in the rubble, her body bloody and wounded. Sephiroth was just too strong for her. She was amazed she was still alive after fighting him. Vincent landed next to her. She didn't even notice that he had been flying. His crimson eyes stared down at her in worry. "Hold on." He whispered. "It'll be over soon. Then we can get you some help. Cloud is fight Sephiroth as we speak." Yuffie just smiled at him before her eyes closed.

Vincent floated in the water, barely conscious. He was somehow able to think enough to be amazed he wasn't sinking. But the Forgotten City always did find a way to surprise him. He stared at the always black sky as he remembered how he had ended up there. He recalled fighting someone. He wasn't sure who. Then a sharp pain in his chest, Yuffie's crying face as she hung onto him. And then falling into darkness.

"C'mon, Vinnie! The kids are gonna get all the candy!" Vincent nearly shook his head at the teenage ninja. Really. The girl was almost nineteen already and she still insists on going Trick or Treating. The girl needs to grow up already. He watched as the pirate dressed ninja ran down the street and sighed. She was going to be so hyper after she eats all the candy she gets later. It makes him almost want a behemoth to go on a rampage in Seventh Haven. Almost.

He waned to see her again. Crazy, but it's true. His days have been less bright since the young ninja disappeared from his life. He thought about her constantly. She was even in his dreams. But as often as he thought of her, he couldn't remember why she had left. Cloud and the other members of AVALANCHE worry about him. He's grown even more distant and antisocial than usual. Ever since Yuffie left. He missed her. It as obvious to everyone. They're waiting for the day he breaks down out of sorrow from losing her. They never know when it might happen.

I don't remember they're names. Just that they're boys barely older than I am. And that they were trying to destroy the entire planet. We had to stop them. I take a hit to the chest by the clawed guy and wonder if all this fighting is really going to help save everyone. Where's Vincent? He should be helping me fight these guys. Oh, there he is. He's fighting the guy with the gun. Huh.
