The idea for this story came at me randomly. But sometimes those are the best stories. This takes place a year after TP. From Link's point of view. The villagers of Ordon do know about Link's wolf form. Enjoy! ;D
Disclaimer: I do not not own the awesomeness that is LoZ.
Chapter One
I had been on patrol around Ordon when I saw it walking from house.
A big, ugly shadow being.
It was larger then most but I thought it wouldn't be anything I couldn't handle. I took my sword out and prepared to attack.
The shadow being somehow heard the little noise I had made and swung around. It attacked me while I was off guard. It had been so long since I had last fight one of these things. All concepts of dodging escaped my mind. All I knew how to do was attack
It beat me half to death, leaving me lying in the foggy world of semiconsciousness.
It took the black and orange crystal that enabled me to transform and imbedded it deep into my right arm causing me to transform. It attacked my chest over and over, braking most of my ribs until I couldn't tell if it was still attacking. Then the shadow being disappeared, and I passed out.
I laid there for hours, unconscious, wounded, dying.
The next morning Ilia fount me laying there. "LINK!" She ran to my canine form. "Link! What happened to you? You need to change back so you can tell us!"
She doesn't know about the crystal. I reminded myself. She thinks I just transform at will. I tried to express the words "I can't" to her through my eyes and expression. But that was another thing I couldn't do.
"Well I can't just leave you there," she said. "I'll take you to Rusl and Uli, they'll heal you." She picked me up I let out a yelp as my broken bones were jostled. "Okay," her struggle to fight back panic was becoming more and more obvious. "I'll go get Rusl, he'll surly know a better way to get you to his house." With that she set me down and ran to the village.
It wasn't till she was down the path that I noticed the bokoblins nearing my house. But I was hopelessly disabled, I couldn't fight them. All I could think was I'm dead. I'm dead. I'm dead.
They saw me right away. They ran, not wanting to waist any time getting to me, their prey. They hit me over and over, braking the last of my unbroken ribs.
Just as one of them was about to put the fatal blow to my neck Rusl ran in killing it and the others. Behind him cam Ilia leading Epona.
As soon as Rusl had finished killing the bokoblins the two of them ran to me. My eyelids had started to fell heavy and my breaths had become inconsistent wheezes.
"This is the worse I've ever seen him," Rusl said as he put me onto Epona. I let out a small yelp. "Don't worry Link," he whispered to me. "' we're taking you to the spring." He noticed my drooping eyelids. "No Link, you stay awake. That's the best thing you can do right now." He directed his attention to Ilia. "Ilia, make sure he doesn't fall asleep."
With my wolf form I was able to also understand Epona too. "Hang in there Link," she said. "We need you here."
"I don't know if I can anymore girl," I replied. "I fell so tired. I just want to let go."
I started drifting off to sleep, but Ilia caught me. "No Link," she said calmly. "Not now. You can sleep later, just not right now."
After what felt like hours of fighting fatigue, we finally made it to Ordon Spring. Ilia and Rusl submerged me in the healing waters.
Just then I remembered that the crystal was inside my cut. I jumped out of the water and looked where the cut was. But it was to late.
The cut had healed.
