Hello! Fuzzyeyes6 here! Even though nobody know who the hell I am, heh. So for English this term we've been reading the Hunger Games and for this final assignment we have to write two blogs from one of the tributes in the games and upload them on a blogging website. I decided I wanted to also upload them here as well.
Disclaimer: I don't own Hunger Games or Foxface. No way I could ever be talented enough to write that!
I recall what happened moments ago during the reaping. I remember feeling shocked stiff. A full-on body paralysation. It took a sharp nudge into my gut courtesy of the girl next to me to bring me back to reality. There's a slight gap in my memory, but I remember gently closing my eyes. The surrounding area had been in an overcast silence. Only the familiar buzz of voltage from the wires above and the scuffle of pebbles below our feet disturbed the silence.
I opened my eyes and had lifted my head towards the front, walking silently up the aisle. I don't remember reaching the top, but I do remember sharply revolving on my boot heel, an electric vibration sounding from the action. I had looked up, to find my mother's eyes. She looked as pale as a ghost. I tried to give her a comforting smile, but nothing happened. My face remained an impassive mask, as if it was stationary that way.
I had glanced over at my father. His eyes mirrored the very words he tells me every day. Do not dissapoint me. He never cared for me. No matter what I did I could never win his warmth. He always expected me to be this faultless daughter. To act more like a machine than an actual human. From a simple look, he's activated me to win at any cost.
I had given a slight nod to him, to show I had understood. He did nothing. He just stared, with cold, emotionless amber eyes.
My parents did not visit me before I went. I now sit on the train, staring right through my escort. I don't want to be responsible for anybody's death, but I don't really have a choice. And I probably never will, as long as my father wishes it.
What you guys think? Did it suck? Favourite, review, or flame to your hearts content! (And yes, I know it's short, but we had to have it between 200 and 300 words.)
