When the formidable pair met it was not what one might call a civil beginning. It all happened before Clint started working for S.H.I.E.L.D. They were after the same target. A violent fight broke out between the two in the target's bedroom. Upon opening the door the target, a well known Italian gangster, turned and began to flee. But neither one would have any of that. They swiftly took him down and fled. Of course not before Selina could grab her diamonds. Once safely out of sight the two, high on the thrill, had a one night stand.
It was a few years before The Cat saw her bird again. She was happy to see him and immediately greeted him with a quick hug before asking him about the rumors that he'd joined up with some government agency.
"I mean of course it's not true, but i'll admit," she laughed, "you had me believing them for a while there."
"Selina it's not a lie," he stated bluntly, staring her in the eyes. "Or a rumor."
The brunette choked on her coffee. "What?!"
He stared at her in reply. Selina narrowed her eyes and stepped back from the man.
"Tell me, does their uniform come with a leash," she quipped.
"I was sent here to bring you in for questioning concerning a series of-" he stated, ignoring her outburst.
" Really now," she drawled in a bored tone. " Clint, you and I both know they want for from me than simple questions. What is this about?"
"Selina, it's about you answering a few questions."
"No,"she pointed at him, " do you feel guilty is that it?"
"Miss. Kyle-"
"Don't you 'miss ' me! Do you feel guiltily? What because you killed people? Do you think that doing this will help? It won't change that fact that you killed them. We've all been there but the difference is that we've been able to either ignore it or make peace with it, but it still doesn't change the facts. "
"If you do not come with me peacefully I will be forced to make you come."
"Do you remember what happened last time we got in a cat fight," she chuckled before head butting him.
The Hawk came back quickly and punched her in the ribs. This continued for sometime, the two attacking each other viciously, until the cat spoke.
"We were always equally matched, you and I.. When it came to fighting," she huffed out. Both bodies now slick with sweat. She winced as he pulled her arms behind her back. She pushed back with all her might, sending both of them to crash against a wall.
"But I was alway better at running," Selina whispered, before sprinted forwards and flipped out the window, disappearing into the dark of night.
