Every Pokemon Ranger had a partner, a Partner Pokemon and a Ranger Partner. But Kellyn and Kate never had any partners except for their partner pokemon. So when they first met, their teamwork was really bad. They were so used to working alone, that they didn't even talk to each other.
But after a few more missions together, they got to know each other better and got used to each other's presence. Right now, Kate and Kellyn cannot help but rely on each other to cover up their weakpoints. Now they realise, that having a partner is so important for a ranger.
Kate and Kellyn wouldn't ask for any other partners other than each other. He were sure that it was the same for other rangers too. This is how they were considered one of the most powerful combinations in the Ranger Union.
