A/N: This takes place after Padme has passed away.

Summary: Obi-wan goes through Padme's things and he finds a poem she had written long before her death. The poem explains Padme's true feelings toward him.

Parting is such sweet Sorrow

After Padme had passed Obi-wan had the bitter and unfortunate job of going through Padme's things to see what could be sold and what should be kept. On top of that he still had to think of a way to hide the babies form Anakin's evil path and the sith.

He was sitting in the palace storage room looking through her things, he had Leia in a beautiful silk bassinet; small little toys hung above her small baby head keeping her happy as they played music each time Obi-wan turned the small key. Luke was sitting on his lap chewing on his won small fingers and drooling all at the same time. A medical droid stayed near by just in case he needed help.

Obi-wan picked up a small wooden box, it had roses carved on the front. He opened it up and a beautiful melody began to play. Luke began to smile big as the music played. Inside the box was earrings, rings, old letters and other stuff.

While looking through the small box, he came across a red folded up piece of paper. "I wonder what this is" He said as he unfolded the paper. The hand writing was small yet elegant. He wasn't sure if he should read it after all it was Padme's private things. "So Luke, do you think I should read it?" He asked baby Luke, all he did was giggle and drool all over Obi-wan's robe. "Maybe not" The droid then flew over to Obi-wan. "Reading Padme's things now isn't invasion of privacy. Remember she is no longer with us" The droid said. Obi-wan sighed, "It's not the right thing to do. Remember I am a Jedi after all. It would be breaking the code" He reminded the droid.

The droid took the paper out of Obi-wan's hand, "It's not breaking the code if I read it to you" The droid said. Obi-wan nodded, "Read it if you must" The droid then began. "It's to you" Obi-wan looked up at the droid, "To me?" He questioned. "It says to Master Obi-wan Kenobi" The droid read aloud. "Please read on" Obi-wan said with full interest. And so he read on and this is what was read.

Love is an ancient word

That is used to express a feeling

One has for another

But what dose it really mean

Love means heartache

Love means heartbreak

Love means tears

Love means pain

Love means sorrow

Love means hold me

Love means marry me

Love means want me

Love means touch me

Love can mean so many things

But to me the very word love

Means you in everyway

After the droid finished the poem, he looked at Obi-wan. "Mistress Padme loved you didn't she?" He asked. Obi-wan was unsure himself. "I would say so by that poem but, then again I am not all that sure" He said. The droid then folded the paper back up and put it in the box and closed the box shut, "Try not to think about it to much Mater Kenobi" The droid said and then he flew off. Obi-wan just sat still holding Luke and the small box, thinking about what the poem had said.

Did Padme really love Obi-wan or was the letter misunderstood?
