Just One of the Demi-gods
Prologue
Alessia Faith Furlong has never been a normal girl. She lost her mother, father, and her two little brothers in a car accident when she was only nine. She had to move in with her aunt and uncle because they were her only living relatives. Her aunt Andrea was a lovely petite African American woman who loves the colour yellow however her uncle (by marriage) Charles is a huge 5'10 Italian man who doesn't like Alessia one bit. He thinks her mother Rachel is the runt of his wife's family and didn't like her either in fact he forbid Andrea from seeing her sister. She had to sneak out of her house just to go to the funeral. So as result of not liking Rachel he really doesn't like Alessia calling her horrid names making her feel bad about herself. Truly he was a horrid person she doesn't know why her aunt married him in the first place. She really loved her aunt she did with all of her heart, but she was truly saddened by the fact that she had to stay here until she was eighteen. Or so she though.
When she turned twelve on her fifth week in sixth grade as she was walking home a Manticore attacked her she barely made it she had somehow made it disappear at one point she is closing her eyes shut preparing for death, then she heard a tremendous roar then nothing she opened her eyes and found nothing but black dust in front of her scared out of her mind she ran straight home and told her aunt what had happened. Her aunt paled she took Alessia by the hand and pulled her up the steps into a room that her Aunt used as an office. "Sia, you know I love you right?" Aunt Andrea asked sadly "yes I do and I love you too Aunt Andrea, but what's going on a thing came out of no were and was about to kill then next thing I know poof it's gone auntie am I going crazy" I asked worried. "No dear you're not going crazy" "then what's going on?" "…." "Aunt Andrea please tell me if you know" "your mother should have been the one to tell you I told her to take you to the camp that you would be safe there, but my sister is stubborn." "What are you talking about Aunt Andrea do I have another disease?" Great ADHD, Dyslexia, and now a new one "no Sia it's not that your mother should have told you, but just in case she never got the chance she wrote it in a letter." "What are you talking about?" "Sia just let me read it okay" I nodded. She stared reading:
Dear Alessia,
I really hope you will never have to read this letter, but if you are I'm sorry I couldn't protect you. I truly wanted to tell you this in person, but I needed to protect you. I want you to know before you read this is that I love you and I will always love you. Sia, the man you have always known as your father, Trent, is not your father please don't be upset if you knew who your real father was, it would be easier for them to find you. Your real father, wanted me to send you to a camp called "Camp Half-Blood" it's for special kids like you. Alessia, your real father is the Greek God Apollo, and you are a demigod. You are now in more danger by knowing that. I need you to pack of the clothing you can fit in a gym bag, and get in the car with your Aunt she knows where she's going. Please remember that I will always and forever love you.
Be safe and I love you,
Mom
