Title: Back Then
By: Kaitlyn Peters
The rain falls fast
In this land far and vast
This place was an ideal
Back Then had a certain appeal
The Spiders on the walls
Were hidden by my happy calls
Back Then all was happy
The words and promises sappy
I was naïve and young
Back Then I was rung
For every bit of life
But now I cut myself free with a knife
A knife I never had Back Then
Now I live in a world with Men
I am safe from Back Then
How many years ago? At least ten
At least ten since I have been
How I wish back then I would have seen
The tears!
The fears!
Screams of loss!
Spreading like black and bloody moss
But see I did not
Now the knowledge is beginning to rot
It is slowly killing me
Because Back Then I lost my key
The key to my soul
Can you not see the toll?
The toll of the loss of my soul
That is locked away in that hole
The hole known as Back Then
