HI THERE FANFICTION. This is my first time making anything I've ever written available for anyone to see so please go easy on me. Reviews would be greatly appreciated. I own the plot (ish) only.

"Well Amy, I've had a splendid time tonight," Sheldon said as they walked toward the door of his apartment, "they movie was highly entertained and I found our conversation in the restaurant to be engaging and stimulating. Thank you and goodnight."

"I must say that I agree with you Sheldon; thank you for a wonderful evening. Rest well."

Sheldon nodded and turned to enter his apartment but abruptly stopped.

"Oh I almost forgot!"

He chuckled and turned to Amy. She smiled, knowing he wouldn't

have let her down. He turned and leant toward her and she closed her eyes in anticipation but at the last second he turned and kissed her cheek instead. A small, defeated sigh escaped her but Sheldon ignored it. He smiled down at her and whispered something she didn't quite catch before turning and going inside. As Amy stood in the hallway she sighed again before turning and starting down the stairs.

Amy made it down one flight before the tears silently started to fall. By the time she reached the next landing she was sobbing so hard that she decided it safer to sit down until her emotions had subsided a bit. So she sat and let herself be wracked by her angst. Amy wasn't aware how long she'd been there when raucous laughed drifted into the building and soon she found herself staring at two pairs of highly familiar shoes.

"Amy what's wrong?" Leonard asked, "Why aren't you upstairs?"

"More importantly; what did Dr. Whackadoodle do to you?" Penny chimed in.

Amy just looked at them in anguish and burst into tears once more.

"Right Ames, you're coming with us and the three of us are going sailing with the good Captain." Penny decided.

"No he freaking didn't!" Penny exclaimed.

"Bestie that's the best it's been since he told me he loved me...I really thought he was making progress." Amy sighed, "I was willing to look past the refusal to hold my hand in the movies but not that poor excuse for a goodnight kiss."

A bottle of Captain Morgan and a recount of the evening later and Penny, Leonard and Amy had pushed the furniture away and lay on the floor talking.

"Don't worry Amy, as soon as I'm sober I'll go over there and beat some sense into the sorry bastard." Leonard declared before breaking into a fit of hiccups.

"No you won't sweetie, I'll have reached him first." Penny declared seriously.

"You should really just go in there and kiss him with everything you've got." Leonard mused.

The three looked at eachother and burst into fits of laughter.

"Sometimes I do wonder how he'd react to something like that... God, I wish I could cut up his brain to figure out how he thinks." Amy mumbled after they'd calmed down.

Penny sat up and looked at Amy, "Oh my God you totally should! Kiss him I mean."

"Although imagine how much easier our lives would be if she did do the other thing!" Leonard moaned.

"Puh-lease Bestie, have you not met him? He'd just push me off, scold me for being inebriated and send me on my not so merry way."

"Amy you've had one slug. That wouldn't even get you on the road to being even remotely tipsy. Let alone drunk!" Penny exclaimed, "I vote you get over there and kiss his brains out."

"I second!" Leonard yelled.

"Alright!" Amy laughed, "It's settled. I'm going."

With that she got up, straightened her skirt, set a neutral expression on her face and marched through the door and across to 4B.

Sheldon was, as usual, prompt to answer but Amy did not miss the look of shock that briefly touched his features.

"Amy! What are youmph-"

Sheldon was cut off as Amy pounced on him, wrapped her legs around his hips and mashed her lips with his. His eyes widened and he stumbled backward. Amy felt the motion, reached behind her and slammed the door without breaking contact with his lips. Sheldon stopped when the back of his legs hit the side of the couch. He used the newfound support to balance himself as he pushed Amy away.

When he finally managed to break the kiss, Sheldon pushed Amy all the way off of him and retreated to stand in front of his spot. After calming his breathing, Sheldon looked up and realised that Amy had followed him. She stood about a meter away but he could see a new kind of fire behind her eyes.

"Amy? Why must you always insist on harassing me every - "

She took a step closer and captured his eyes in an unrelenting stare.

"Shut up Sheldon." She said as she pushed him backwards into his spot, straddled him and captured him in another kiss before he could answer.

Sheldon didn't kiss back at first but Amy wasn't giving up and she started moving her lips against his. He was being stubborn and, despite having stopped resisting, he refused to respond. Amy was fast growing irritated so she decided to bring out the big guns. She pushed herself up so she was angled over him, slid her hands to the back of his neck and slowly started sucking on his lower lip.

It was as though something snapped inside him. With a guttural groan he slid one hand to her hip and the other into her hair to pull her closer. He began to feverishly return the kiss and she smiled into his mouth as he did so. She decided to try her luck and slid her tongue over his bottom lip and was shocked when he actually allowed her an entrance. He gave her hair a slight tug and she lowered herself back onto his legs. The moment she did so, however, both their eyes shot open. Sheldon was visually panicking as he threw Amy sideways and scrambled to the opposite side of the apartment.

Amy's face twisted into a smirk as she stared at his back.

"Why Dr. Cooper! Did I do that to you?" She asked, feigning innocence.

"You're drunk Amy. You don't know what you're talking about."

"I'm not that drunk."

"How would you know? You're drunk."

"I'm of perfectly sound mind Sheldon." She said exasperatedly.

"Not possible, I could taste the alcohol on you." He said, still facing away from her, bent against the island counter and breathing raggedly.

"I had one sip. It wouldn't even register in breathalyzer. Just admit that you've been avoiding physical contact with me and that you were wrong about your infamously non-existent baser urges and promise not to give me this crap again and I'll go on my merry way. "

"No. You need to leave."

"Not a chance buddy."

"Please Amy! I've got a lot to process and I can't do it with you here."

"Yes I know. You can't have me here if you are to figure out how to deal with this and go back to before."

"Precisely...oops."

"Fine, if I'm that undesirable then I'll propose a solution. Termination of this relationship until further notice. Effective immediately."

"Amy no!" He yelled as he swung around.

"From here on our relationship is purely platonic. Goodbye Sheldon. I'll see you tomorrow evening."

"Amy! Wait!"

But the door had already shut.
