# The Arks 3144 The galaxy has been plagued by a long galactic war across two galaxies; our own Milky Way and our distant brother Andromeda. The war lasted for twelve years. The Milky Way was outmatched for Andromeda's significant technology and beings. Earth, the leading planet for the Milky Way damaged much of Andromeda, because of its will and bravery. Earth's closest ally was the planet Eroura, a planet inhabited by a native species of humanoids, similar to the Native Americans and their culture. The planet gave off a large glow because of its bioluminescence. But Andromeda's leading planet, Forjak, used a cynical device to wipe out Earth's, and it allies, defenses. Soon after, Andromeda also felt the effects of its own device and suffered the same fate. Populations of the planets decreased drastically. Earth, once having over six billion inhabitants now only has a mere few thousand scattered about. Forjak, having at one time ten billion , now only has roughly a few hundred. The other planets suffered more due to their relatively smaller populations tan Earth and Forjak. Most of the survivors call the war The Days of Reckoning although it is officially labeled as The Intergalactic War or the IGW.
Since both galaxies have no leadership or government, the survivors did what they had to do to survive. Some became pirates, others became bandits but some became Ark hunters. Ark hunters risked everything. Some formed small groups while others went solo. The most notorious Ark Hunter clan, that acted more like pirates, was the Xcrisions. They were vicious and had their own little "kingdom" spanning across the galaxies. Arks were used during the war and contain powerful components and devices that could be used for protection or other means. Both galaxies had their own form of Arks. Arks were either offensive, defensive, or neutral. Offensive Arks had weapons and offensive components on board. Defensive Arks held defensive capabilities and powers. Neutral Arks contained an abundance of supplies including medical and research supplies. Ark hunters risked their lives to travel the two galaxies and scavenge the Arks. The most powerful of all the Arks was the Ark of Foreseen. It was an unusual Ark as legend told that the one to behold the Ark could see into the near or distant future and will contain the power to unite whatever he or she so desired. Due to the fact that there was no government, all was legal. All was permitted. Nothing was impossible.
