Author's Note: I wrote this poem when I first the opening to Final Fantasy VIII. I thought it was one of the most brilliant opening sequences to and video game and I couldn't help but want to write about it.
Dance of Destiny By: Lady Ava
A face-off between the rivals came,
Their blades by side, their eyes aflame.
The spark of hate that which they bore,
For a final duel to settle the score.
One fatal strike, one single blow,
The crimson blood now starts to flow.
With one slash, a legend made,
Now a scar becomes engraved.
A petal soars on ocean waves,
Carrying upon it, a promise made.
A single vow that no one spoke,
To meet again, that promise broke.
A feather glides on fragrant breeze,
One chance meeting to let time freeze.
The waltz they shared seemed to entrance,
For it was that of destiny's dance.
A face-off between the rivals came,
Their blades by side, their eyes aflame.
A cry of rage before their fall,
One final strike to end it all.
