Elena's POV
"Damon?" I said as I followed his path. I had given him a few minutes to cool off, but now we needed to talk. "Damon," I said once I saw him.
"Get out of here, Elena" He said to me over his shoulder.
"No, not until you tell me what's up." I said stepping closer to him. "Elijah is here to help."
"Help?" He asked , turning around to face me, "Elena, he is an original. He won't help us. The goal for us is to keep you alive, but his is to make sure Klaus is dead. To him, you're expendable." He said yelling at me until he got to the end, which he spat in my face.
"Damon, what choice do we have? I mean really!" I said grabbing his arm because he started to turn away. I was yelling just as loud as he had been. I didn't really care that everyone in the house could hear me. "He gave you his word, isn't that enough?"
"No, Elena, it isn't. And it won't be until I see you survive this. And honestly, I don't think Elijah is the guy to help us do that." He said
"Damon!" I screamed at him. My patience has officially run out. "I have no choice. He is our best bet! You don't seem to get how serious this is do you?"
"Are you kidding me?" He screamed back. "Of course I do! It's you life!"
"Exactly! And Damon, I don't want to die! I don't want to be sacrificed by Klaus so that he can get exactly what he wants. I'll kill myself before I let that happen, but right now, we don't have any better options. Sitting around with our thumbs up our asses isn't working. Why can't you get that?" I yelled and had the satisfaction of seeing the look of shock on his face. "I took action because this is happening. Klaus isn't going to wait for us to get our stuff together. It's coming and we need help." I finished and I hadn't noticed that I was crying until Damon reached up and wiped away my tears.
He put his hand under my chin and lifted my eyes up to look into his.
"Okay, and you won't die, I promise. I won't let it happen. I'll do anything to save you. Even if that means working with the devil." He told me
"We already did that with Katherine. Elijah is actually going to stay and help." I said
I looked over and sow Elijah standing in the doorway.
"I am your ally now, Damon." He said and Damon nodded.
"I'm sorry for killing you, but I'm not going to lie. If it comes down to her or you, I'll do it again without losing a blink of sleep." Damon said
"I expect no less." Elijah said to him, and I swear I saw a faint smile pass his lips before he turned and walked out.
