My heart is thudding wildly –
I don't know what to do -
My frightened emotions I cannot subdue
Amazed and confused, frightened and scared,
As a huge monster glared.
He looked at me – deep into my eyes-
My entire body petrified.
The hands of fear clutched my heart,
A ruthless dream, I did not want.
I choked on the darkness –
Could not take it anymore –
My trembling hands were hard to ignore.
Sweat running down my brow,
I began to wonder how –
How could this all be?
Why did this have to happen to me?
Waking up, in my bed,
My heartbeat began to slow,
I was back and now I know
I am safe, back at home.
