Disclaimer: Sadly, I do not own the Code Geass characters. But I'll always have fanfiction, as will many fangirls.
Story: LelouchxSuzaku. Set somewhere in the first volume of the manga.
"Lelouch? What is it?"
"Oh! Nothing!"
Brought out of his daze by Suzaku's soft voice, Lelouch sighed inwardly. He had been staring again. He hadn't meant to. But somehow he'd forgotten where he was. He'd been imagining it again, what it would be like to kiss those soft lips. It was all he could do not to stare at them all day, he wanted them so much.
It was a soft yearning. It seemed to consume him more each day, until he just couldn't take any more.
Raising to his feet sharply, so fast that it startled Suzaku, Lelouch bolted for the door. He would find a bathroom, and splash some cold water on his face, and…
"And hope that one day I won't feel so strongly," he finished his thoughts unhappily.
"Lelouch!" Suzaku stood up and followed him, grabbing his arm, forcing Lelouch to turn back, and look into those beautiful brown eyes, and acknowledge Suzaku. "What's wrong with you? You've been acting so strangely lately…"
He cocked his head to one side, as Lelouch's gaze dropped to the ground. "He's worried about me," he realised, and felt his heart break in two. Tears in his eyes, with a small wry smile, he looked up and his gaze fused with Suzaku's. Those two eyes, so unaware.
"I love you so much it hurts," he told him. The first few words had been steady until his voice cracked with emotion. He could feel tears threatening, and pulled, turning away from the boy he was so deeply in love with that he didn't know how to surface.
But the boy didn't let go, and feeling his grip on his arm tighten, Lelouch feared it was anger, or fear, or acceptance but rejection. He didn't realise it was a deep emotional reaction.
"How can I kiss you if you leave?" Suzaku's voice almost mirrored Lelouch's with poignant tremors. Lelouch's whole face shifted with shock in seeing Suzaku crying.
"I-I've wanted to kiss you for so long…" Suzaku stepped towards the dark haired teen, and without a thought Lelouch embraced him, realising with a slow sinking surprise that it felt so different to the other times he had hugged Suzaku. Suzaku felt so beautifully soft and warm, and Lelouch pulled him tighter, closer his eyes to focus on the feeling of being so close to his love, breathing instinctively in the lingering scent of his hair, like musk.
"Lelouch," he heard him murmur, untangling himself from him a little, and Lelouch opened his eyes to see his beautifully pure face closer up.
His face was still tear-stained, and Lelouch, smiling fondly, wiped away the tears.
"I love you," Suzaku smiled, foolishly, in spite of himself.
"I didn't think you did," Lelouch murmured quietly, his voice taking on an intimate tone.
"I was so scared. When I woke up, after I'd been shot…I thought they might've killed you."
Suzaku was silent afterwards, trying not to contemplate a life without Lelouch. "We've been friends for so long…I guess I never thought you'd feel the same way."
"Suzaku." Suzaku looked up at Lelouch, seeing a painful yearning in his eyes. Both thought the same thing simultaneously – "I need to kiss him. Now."
Pulled towards each other by an invisible string, stronger than life itself, they leaned in, magnetically, and Suzaku's mouth met Lelouch's in a kiss. Pushing him up against the door, they continued the kiss, an unhurried exploration into a new relationship. Lelouch realised the very moment his lips touched Suzaku's that he wanted to kiss him forever.
"Who would have thought it could be this amazing?" Lelouch thought as he yanked Suzaku's whole body closer, and felt an electric rush run down his body at feeling Suzaku's whole body pressed against his.
