Prologue

I ran quickly into the place where I knew Hatter and the others would be waiting for me, I had pushed Alice back into the real world even though she didn't want to leave me. "Hatter?" I called out, peaking my head out from behind a tree. I had changed my appearance that was a gift of mine since I had arrived down here for the very first time in Underland. My hair was now black in color and my eyes were dark blue because of the sadness I felt in my heart.

Tarrant the Hatter poked his head out of his home that was in shambles. "Esme is that you?" He asked me softly, afraid that I was someone else.

I peaked out from the tree a bit more revealing the very dress that Tarrant would be able to know that I was truly Esme.

"Come on Esme get inside."

I picked up the hem of the skirt of my dress and ran inside of his home. I dropped down to my knees shaking slightly. If the red queen knew I was here she would behead me for sure. I didn't want that. I was needed here to protect Alice when she came later. I felt a hand on my shoulder. I looked up and saw the blue eyes of Tarrant.

He was sad that Alice had to leave, but he knew why she had to leave in order to be safe so the red queen wouldn't try to kill her. "She'll be back." He said sadly.

"I know she will." I said softly, as I shakily got back up onto my feet. "The red queen doesn't know that I am still here. I have to try to blend in."

"Blend in you shall." He said with a smile. His eyes turning a bright green. He began working right away on something for me to wear. "You shall be an apprentice of mine for now." He said looking at me with a sad smile.

I nodded my head in understanding. I looked out the window sadly. "Alice. Please come back to us safely. We will need you here when the time comes. More then you shall ever know big sister." I thought as I looked down at my black locks of hair. As long as she was safe with father, mother, and big sister, Alice had nothing to worry about. She wouldn't be able to explain what had happened to me sadly. Our parents would just think that I had ran away from home or was kidnapped by someone.

The prologue is kind boring and not very good. I will have the first chapter up soon I promise. Review and let me know if this is worth writing.
