1. Dinner

7.46 p.m., August 6

Brennan's House

"Hey, Bones!"

Agent Seeley Booth stood in the door way of Temperance Brennan's house.

"Hey!" She responded.

"So, what's for dinner?" he asked smacking his lips and rubbing his hands together.

Temperance headed over to the kitchen. "We're having crab legs, potatoes, and asparagus."

Booth had an astonished look on his face. If anyone could cook, it definitely had to be his partner.

They sat down at the table together and started eating, when the door bell rang.

Temperance opened the door-no one was there-, but she noticed an envelope on the ground with her name on it. She brought it back to the table and Seeley looked at her cautiously. She returned the glare.

Together, they carefully opened the envelope. Inside were pictures of them walking into the Jeffersonian, Booth, getting out of his car, and Dr. Brennan entering her apartment building. Also Enclosed was a note that read,

"Player one, draw a card."

A king of hearts was taped to the back of the note.

"What the hell is that supposed to mean?"
