A/N: My first Shadowhunters piece, so of course it had to be another try at The Sacred and Profane's 2 by 4 Pairing Prompt. It's my sixth or seventh attempt, simply because this challenge proves to be the perfect ice breaker. The idea is that I pick one or more pairings from any fandom, and then write four drabbles no longer than six sentences about them, inspired by objects around the room. Anyway, I hope you enjoy! :)
Item used: glasses.
"Hmm, I'd like to try something," Isabelle said. Before Simon could react, she took off his glasses. "Cute, but I think I like you better with the glasses."
"Well, I've considered taking contacts at some point, but then this became my trademark and-"
He was effectively silenced by a kiss on the lips.
"...Never mind."
Item used: earrings.
"Whoa, you look- I mean...nice outfit," Jace stammered, completely flustered now.
"Thanks. Could you pass me those earrings, please?"
He quietly did as he was asked, and she could see from the mirror that he couldn't take his eyes off her. Isabelle really knew what one should wear to leave a lasting impression...
Item used: plant.
"Here, for you," Jace declared solemnly, as he handed the plant to a surprised Clary.
"Thanks, but what do I do with it?" the latter asked.
"See it as a Valentine's Day gift."
"Oh...thanks," she replied, now taken aback completely.
Since Jace could sense that something was up, he asked her, "What's wrong?"
"Nothing, I just really like the plant so...thank you."
Item used: pencil.
"You're really good at this. Good thing you noticed how charming I actually look."
Clary let out a soft but audible gasp when Jace suddenly showed up right behind her.
"Sorry, I didn't want to startle you," he quickly said, as he took place next to her instead watching her work from over her shoulder.
"No worries," she assured him, although a faint blush was touching her cheeks.
After all, Jace had just seen her drawing of him and by the looks of it, he was very pleased with the results.
