My name is Stephanie plum. When I was in high school I accidentally burned down the science lab. Not that it was my fault. I had agreed to meet my sister in the chemistry classroom after class so she could give me a ride home, and I found her science teacher hitting on her. One thing led to another and I threw a couple of test tubes at him, they reacted funny and started flaming. The cops showed up and took my statement and gave me a ride to my parents house. That was a fun one to explain to my dad. I think my mothers arm almost fell of from crossing herself.It was all I could do to keep myself from crying when I thought of what were my mother was going to say when she heard of my latest screw up. I was a magnet for trouble. I go through more cars than humanly possible, and I ended almost every day covered in something disgusting.

Word travels fast in the burg, by now I was sure that everyone knew I had burned down Joe Morelli's house. Morelli was my on again off again cop boyfriend who was currently in the permanent off again category. I had walked in on him and my sister Valerie doing the deed. It just so happened that she was married and had just had a kid, but did that stop her from boinking my boyfriend? Nooo.

Ironically my sister was the cause of both fires. Dinner at my parents was going to be tense on Sunday.

I woke up the next morning at 4:26 am when I felt someone sitting on my bed. I moaned something that resembled 'go away' and rolled over. "Babe" I opened my eyes, wide awake. Sitting on my bed was my very own Cuban Sex God. He looked like he just stepped out of a photo shoot and I had a singed afro and dog breath. I shrieked and fell off the bed, not the best way to great the man of your fantasies. "I heard about Morelli".

Just great, now everyone knew.
