My name is Jeannette but most people call me Jenny. If I were to describe my life in one word before I met him I would tell you perfect. I had good grades, good looks, good everything. I even had the perfect boyfriend, or so it seemed. He was the male reflection of me. He had good grades, good looks etcetera! Everyone knew him as the role model that everyone wished to be like but unfortunately, appearances aren't always reality.
He had always been my friend ever since we met during lunch our freshman year and I always had a crush on him but was discouraged by all the girls who already set eyes on him. I didn't want to just be another one of them. One day before English, I was getting my textbook and was surprised to find a note on top of my books and things. It read: "Meet me at the courtyard during lunch". There was no signature either but I knew it was Steve because of his unmistakable slanted handwriting.
After English, I waited impatiently for Steve to arrive. Why had he called me out there anyways? If he didn't arrive, I was sure I would kill him. Then someone came up from behind me and covered my eyes. I screamed in shock and then frowned when I heard Steve's soft laugh next to my ear. "I know it's you Steve" I said as I wringed his hands off my face. He gave me his mischievous grin and amused eyes as I threatened to hurt him if he ever pulled that off again but then stopped me short when he changed from an amused expression to a warm look and then I felt him pulling me to him and kissing me on the lips! Dumbfounded, confused and stupid, I just looked at him in shock. Obviously satisfied with my reaction, he gently lifted my chin with his soft hands and planted another kiss on me. This time I was ready so I also tried to kiss back but he drew away as quickly as he advanced and just grinned mischievously. That was the day we started going out.
