Isabella's mind was incredibly groggy when she woke. It was still dark in her room, she noticed with relief. Good, she still had some time to sleep. She sat up slowly on her elbows, trying desperately to remember the dream she was just having. Something aboutEdward, probably. She scanned the room quckily. She noticed she wasn't alone.

"Edward...?" she asked hoarsely.

But as soon as she saw him, she knew. He didn't smile and tell her to go back to sleep as he usually did.His sillouttegrewtowards her, unusally trancelike. She noticed wearily that his eyes were almost completely black. All her thoughts of sleeping left her mind immeadiately.

"Edward?" she asked again. If he had heard what she said, he didn't show any signs of it. Her heart began to beat erractically as he came closer, remembering all too well the pain of a vampire's bite.

She sat up further, and pulled her blue blankets closer to her. He sat at the edge of her bed, staring at her with wild and hungry eyes. But she wanted this, she reminded herself. She slowly closed her eyes, preparing for his bite. But it never came. There was just the slow passing of silent minutes.

"Bella," he said finally, "there will be no going back." She opened her eyes, surprised that he had repressed his animalistic side so quickly.

"I know," she said instantly, without much thought. "Edward, I want this. I want to be like you." He nodded.

"And Charlie?"

"I'll figure something out," she said, looking at him gravely.

Edward sighed. "Bella, you know I can't deny you anything."

She smiled. "Then don't deny me this."

"It's not that easy!" he shouted. She was slightly surprised by his anger.

"Please, trust me," she whipsered and smiled again. She leaned closer to him. "I know what I want."

He looked at her, defeated. There was a long silence. Isabella hoped he was considering it. Pain was not consequence she doubted or feared anymore. It was almost too easy, three short days of pain and then an eternity with Edward. After she was turned, they would have to leave Forks, another consquence that she didn't doubt. As for her parents, well, she would have to fake death. It would be easy, being a vampire.

"Bella, I love you," Edward said pulling her close to him. "Do you know that?" She nodded agaisnt him. "Are you sure you're ready?" She nodded again.

She felt his lips agaisnt her neck and her breathing became shallow. There was absolutely no turning back now. He lightly kissed her neck and hesitated. She felt him stiffen agaisnt her, then his fangs grazed slowly over her neck. Slowly, they sank into her neck. Instantly he drew back, afraid to take too much.

At first she felt nothing at all but sheer bliss, for knowing that she would soon leave her clumsy human behind. But soon, she felt that fimilar fire in her viens and she clasped againt Edward. He took her completely into his arms and rocked her slowly agaisnt him.

"Do you still want this? To be with me?" he asked. His voice was raw with conflicting emotions.

Bella smiled, depsite the pain. "Yes," she said quickly.
