… spent the day with Seren. She knew of the decisions that weighed on my mind, yet she did not complain. She always endeavoured to ease my thoughts and make the choices clearer. She had promised she would leave along with me, and that went a great deal towards calming me.

Together we would explore the great forest that her people had named Isafdar, marvelling at the cyan hues of the grass. It had occurred to both of us that such vibrant colours were likely Seren's influence on the nature around her, but we passed no comment on it. The Anima Mundi reacted to her wherever she trod.

Eventually we settled in a dew-veiled clearing, Seren sat upon a tree branch and I upon the ground. She laid a hand on the tree's trunk, like someone greeting a dear old friend, and began to sing.

It was a wonder to be near Seren when she sang. She had taught the art to her people – and such marvels they worked with it – but she was the undisputed master. Her voice resonated with the liquid gold tones of a harp and echoed with the chimes of crystal. Whenever she put forth her voice in song, nature all around her came to life under the guiding notes of her words.

I watched as the tree she was perched upon seemed to shiver under her, then sprang new buds of vivid green on the ends of every branch. Soon after they opened and bore new flowers, of muted blues and purples, but I knew the spectacle was not finished yet. At the moment the flowers had opened their petals fully, a frost of crystal came over them, glazing their delicate forms and preserving them forever with Seren's mark.

She reached up and plucked a flower with such delicacy and lowered herself to the ground, where she planted it a few strides away. I knew that that flower would grow into one of her beautiful crystal trees, such as the ones that the elves grew within their budding city. In this way, Seren travelled the forest, leaving gifts for her followers to find.

When she stood up she saw the way I had been watching, and laughed. Her laugh pealed through the air like a bell, just another delight of her voice. I rose and gestured to the expanse of forest in front of us. There was always more to discover here – more to discover throughout the whole of Gielinor, really. Often I had invited Seren to come with me outside Isafdar, but always she would stay with her people.

Together we wove between trees and undergrowth, enjoying our time together before…
