I do NOT own Maximum Ride-If I did, Ari would still be alive and would be a main character; Jeb would be thrown out the window; Max wouldn't think she was right all the time.

"Okay…wait, what is this again?"

"It's called 'ramen', Ari. Just try some."

Ari reached up to rub the back of his neck, pausing when he felt the slight change of skin texture where his expiration date was. He looked down at the ramen, then up at Max, and finally back down to the ramen. It couldn't hurt to try it, could it…?

"Is it safe to eat -?"

"Ari," Angel said, sighing, "I'm sure it's fine~"

"A-alright…If I get sick and die right in front of you guys -"

"ARI!" Max snapped, groaning. "You've never worried about dying before, and now you're worry over a little bowl of ramen noodles?"

Ari grabbed his fork, spun it around, and then shoved the noodles in his mouth to shut himself up. The mass of noodles slid down his throat and he started to cough weakly.

Max shot up from her chair, suddenly worried.

Beside Ari, Nudge raised a fist and slammed it against his back hard enough to make him hit the table and shoved it against Max and Angel. He started to turn blue. Nudge stood, grasping her hands together, and with a swing knocked Ari's back so hard that he roughly coughed up the noodles back into the bowl. He sat there, shaking slightly, as Nudge looked him over to make sure he was actually okay.

When he looked up at Max, he noticed that she was pale, staring at him with wide eyes. He cracked a grin at her.

"Okay, no more ramen for you. EVER!" Max shouted, pushing the table back.

She scooped up Angel and made to leave. Ari and Nudge scrambled to their feet and dashed off after their leader.
