Before humanity, before life, before gods, before time, there was one thing: Creation. A strange substance that made up everything. Nothing moved, or nothing could move since there was no time. Time started when a part of the substance gained a will to create it. It moved, became finite, and soon enough, it was a being. The first thing it thought was "record", and it waved through the creation stuff. Unique symbols formed: the written language of which it used. The being called itself Yeztia, King of Time.
Not long after, more segments of Creation gained a sentience. Four more beings rose at the same time, then another individual, and then a pair. The first four possessed extreme personalities which they expressed through movements. Withyl flew through Creation, never stopping, even if it slowed down or sped up constantly. Storick, however, barely moved at all. Larkyr moved by rolling through Creation with a more constant pattern than Withyl. The last of the quintuplet, Sirich, moved by flickering, taking a more precise shape than the others, and waved its form, leaping from place to place. The pair, Razh and Lyris, were constantly at odds. They didn't express their personalities, but rather observed the other deities.
The last individual was not content sitting in Creation. It dreamed of something more physical. It observed the other deities, particularly the four, and became inspired. It wanted to shape Creation in the likeness of the four. It gained sentience by gaining will, but what happened when it imposed will? It experimented… and succeeded. Energy. It gave four names for the four energies, known as the elements: air, earth, water, and fire.
The creator of the elements, Ars, gave command of the elements to the deities that inspired it. Withyl became the god of air, Storick the god of earth, Larkyr the god of water, and Sirich the goddess of fire. They formed more of their respective elements, and more, and more. A great landscape of stone stretched as far as the eye can see. Fires ravaged on the surface, while the deep valleys in the stone were filled with water, leaving the area above to be the domain of the air.
Razh and Lyris both looked at the creations taking place and both wished to make their own. Razh wanted to light the world so everything could be seen in his embrace. Lyris, on the other hand, wanted to observe everything under her eye with everything cloaked in darkness. The world was alternatively cloaked in light and darkness, with the two deities circling each other. Day and night had formed.
Two more deities rose after the creation of the world. Zarinth hated the light of Razh and the moon of Lyris and sought refuge underneath the earth, eating through stone, dirt, and sand as if it were swimming, but it left behind tunnels and caves deep below the surface. Tyri loved the elements and experimented to bring elements into other domains. Water falling from the sky, dirt sliding as if it were water, fire flashing through the clouds, and air picking up the stone and hurling it. Weather cycles had become prominent in the world above, and the vast underground system below.
