AN2: This is kindof a journal from the a 5th year resident who has transferred to SGMW.
( Day 1)
First off let me introduce myself to my fellow readers. My name is Sydney Grace Kelly Porter, I am a 5th year Orthopedic resident who transferred from LA General.
I transferred to Seattle Grace Mercy West when my godmother Adele Webber was diagnosed with Alzheimer. I wanted to be near her and Uncle Richard,more less I wanted to help out as much as I can/could. Today is however my first day at SGMW,I remember this hospital when I was younger when my father Dr. Martin D. Porter would bring me here. Before he retired he was a legend at this hospital working along side Dr. Webber and the late Dr. Grey. For me to get the chance to be a great surgeon and the same hospital as my father and uncle is priceless.
I chose Orthopedic as my specialty because, as a young rambunctious girl I was always breaking something where it be arm,leg,foot,toes,tail bone, and fingers. I grew up with 2 older brothers and sister so I was always into something. Orthopedic excites me, you get to break bones and put them back together. I heard Dr. Torres is the best Orthopedic surgeon this side of the ocean. Well now readers it seems time has flown by so fast it is now time to put this laptop away and start my day. I close the laptop just as I hear "Rounds is 10 mins. People lets go." So I promise to write more on my lunch break and if its a slow day on my iphone also. So here I go wish me luck. I started this morning at 5 am,here it is now 1pm where did this day go. I have met some interesting characters today. 2 5th year residents tried to hit on me, Dr. Karev and Avery to be exact. I met Chief Resident Dr. Kepner nice girl little stressed at times. I met the Legendary Dr. Shepherd, I know why they call him McDreamy now. Lets see I met the Chief Owen Hunt, Dr. Yang (whom I am told is his wife) she scares me alittle. Dr. Sloan and Dr. Lexie Grey I think are a couple from what I hear they have an on again off again romance. Dr. Bailey and Dr. Altman where really nice didn't chat to them very much seem like they had a lot going on. Then there is the late Dr. Ellis Grey's daughter Dr. Meredith Grey I heard some rumors that uncle Richard took the fall for her mess up with a Clinical Trial that involved Aunt Adele. Finally after waiting for 2 hours Dr. Torres comes out of surgery so I can actuality meet her. I am standing by the nurses station when Dr. Torres and Uncle Richard come up to me. Wow she really is gorgeous,my mind wonders alittle as I just stand there listening to her talk to me. Finally, Uncle Richard turns to me and says to Dr. Torres " She is all yours". I glance back out of my trance, " Thanks Uncle Richard,hope to see you later" I say before he leaves. " If you will follow me I will show you around the Orthopedic wing of the hospital?" she says to me. All I can do is nod my head,she has me speechless. She shows me the whole floor and where her office is. As we round the corner I see a bubbly blonde Dr. with what looks like heely's on with the cutest baby I have seen ever. What comes next really throws me for a loop,Dr. Torres proceeds to pick this baby up out of the blondes arms and turns to me and says, " Dr. Porter this is my wife Dr. Robbins Head of Pediatrics and our daughter Sofia." "Damn no chance there then,really didn't think she was married." Well I guess this day is done for me. Well it's already 7 pm this day has went by fast. Off to the place where I dwell when I am not at work. If my hands and brains let me I will write some more.
