"Help!!" Kagome yelled on top of her lungs. Kagome was trapped in Kouga's powerful embrace, squirming her way out. But, so far squirming was not working ver well, she stopped all attempts when she heard knuckles being cracked. Inuyasha stood there before Kouga, looking very noble and brave; almost hero-like.
"Let go of her, you stupid wolf!" barked Inuyasha.
"No, she's mine!" barked Kouga back.
The two glared at each other and started growling. Kagome whimpered when she felt the growls were from Kouga's chest.
"I don't want you Kouga, I never did. Sorry, if I ever let on, but I have my mind set on this one guy." Kagome explained. Kouga just growled louder, and kinda loosened his grip; but it wasn't enough for Kagome to break free. Desperate, Kagome did what her body allowed her to do, she bit Kouga.
"Owww!!" screames Kouga, "You bit me you stupid wench!"
"Don't you ever call her that ever again, you flea brain." Inuyasha called out.
Kagome ran to Inuyasha and hid behind him. Inuyasha turned around to see Kagome crying, he instantly snaked his arms around her, and patted her back.
"Quit touching my woman! You smelly dog!" warned Kouga.
"For the last time she's not your woman! And look I'm even nice enough to prove it." Inuyasha answered.
Inuyasha looked at Kagome and whispered, "This is going to hurt, but just a little. You have to trust me in this one."
"Okay." Kagome responded.
Inuyasha lowered his head to Kagome's neck, and bit her. Kagome squirmed in pain, but Inuyasha sqeezed her tightly, silently promising that he would never let go. His eyed pleading for her to hold on just a bit longer. She looked at his amber orbs, and also silently promised to never let go.
Hearing all the yelling, Sango and Miroku went outside to see what this was all about. The only sight that they saw when they walked out of the hut, was Inuyasha bitting Kagome, and Kouga glowering on the side. Sango tapped Miroku and asked him if he knew what this meant.
"It means that Inuyasha has claimed Kagome as his mate." explained Miroku.
Overhearing this Kagome looked at Inuyasha, asking him if it was true. Inuyasha made the slightest nod, and looked at her waiting for an answer. She couldn't do anything at this point even if she wanted to, so she just told him to go ahead with it. After what she said, Inuyasha raised his head and smiled.
'His first real smile.' Kagome thought.
"Do I have to bite you too?" whispered Kagome.
"If you want to." whispered Inuyasha back.
Kagome looked into his amber orbs, and saw a sparkle, that wasn't there before.
Kagome turned back for one last time and told Kouga, "I'm sorry, I didn't know this was coming." and offered him a smile before she left.
Disappointed Kouga, left very quickly, afraid to show them his emotions. Inuyasha gazed at Kagome, and kissed her lightly on the lips.
"What was that for?" asked Kagome.
"For trusting me." answered Inuyasha.
As the two walked back to the hut hand-in-hand, Inuyasha asked something.
"So wanna play later?" Inuyasha had the nerve to ask, complete with a smirk.
Kagome looked at him, her mouth filled with one word.
"SIT!!"
