Woke up. Tripped over a pile of books next to the bed and spent fifteen minutes cursing. Must atone for lapse by giving breakfast to first gamin spotted.
Spent another fifteen minutes looking for red vest. Cursed. Will atone for this lapse by giving lunch to first nun seen.
Nearly left without my books. Managed not to swear. Praise God, France will be saved.
Late Morning
France is doomed. Tripped over Grantaire while leaving the boarding house. Doesn't he live anywhere but the gutters? Must speak about this at the meeting.
Gave breakfast to gamin. He whistled at me and called me governor. Odd.
Afternoon
In class. Hate professor. We must cut the fat ones down to size. Oh – idea for a speech! Must write it down.
Late Afternoon
Speech didn't work out. Would have involved singing and waving flags about. Can't lead a revolution that way.
Gave lunch to nun. She asked me if I knew about God's Love. Was severely frightened by the look in her eyes.
Evening
Hungry. Very hungry. Food at Musain looks unappetizing. Oh well.
Stomach hurts. Must complain to waitress.
Waitress unsympathetic. Must suggest to Combeferre we start meeting in the Corinth.
Late Evening
Meeting a complete disaster. Bahorel broke several chairs. Prouvaire prattled about his latest sonnet. Joly and Bousset more concerned with each other than France. Courfeyrac brought another one of his "sisters". Feuilly and Combeferre were the only ones paying attention. Refuse to discuss Grantaire.
