Alfons chuckled as he felt the impact of the prosthetic arm that hit him, "I'm sorry, but do you need a hand?"
Edward glared hard at the other male, "No, I don't."
"I'm sorry." Alfons was still chuckling though he really never meant to tick off Ed this much; he'd just been teasing the other.
"No, you aren't." Edward told him as he sighed and sat down to resume looking at everything that he'd gathered for a way back home.
"I really am. It must be hard for you to be so far away from home where everyone you love is." Alfons answered and now his voice really sounded apologetic.
Edward looked back up at Alfons though his eyes still held that unwavering disbelief over the sincerity of Alfons's words.
"I just want to see them again." Edward finally spoke up with.
"I know that you do. I'll miss you." His words were honest and that ever present sadness at the fact that he knew Edward would never love him strong enough to stay or strong enough to find a way for them to last even then was there.
"I'll miss you too." The words grew fainter as they tumbled from Edward's lips after the first one was clear as day.
"I love you." Alfons scooted closer and offered Ed's arm back to him as he sat by his side and ran his other fingers through Edward's hair.
Edward didn't answer him much like normal when the German male brought up his love for him despite how 'close' they seemed with each other.
Alfons sighed and leaned in to kiss Ed's lips as if to drag him out of potentially sad thoughts; Ed would kiss back though their previous conversation had Edward not kissing him as fully as he would have without it.
The German male sighed and pulled back from his Amestrian lover and turned his attention to the streets outside of the window and the sun that was slowly setting in the evening sky; he really would miss the other when he had no chance or hope to be by his side anymore.
His smile turned sad at that thought that he'd had times and times before and at the ever present concern that Edward Elric did not love him back as much.
Alfons sighed though may be he and Ed would have another chance to be together despite this shortly lived one and all of the pain of the present and the future and how bittersweet all of these memories would be for him and possibly for Ed.
He loved him regardless of all that would happened and had happened; he truly did beyond every obstacle and every mistake.
