"Did you get careless because you're a Logia-type as well? You are mearly 'fire' I am 'Magma' that consumes 'fire'." The marine glared. "My powers completely outclass yours!"

"Ace!" Luffy shouted, trying to move forward, but faltering.

"Hey Luffy! You're at your limit!" Yinbei exclaimed just as a piece of paper fluttered to the ground.

"Ah. Ace's… vivre card."

"The pirate King, Gold Rodger! The revolutionary, Dragon! I'm amazed their sons turned out to be brothers!" "Gret sin already runs trhough your blood! No matter who else escapes, I will not let you two brothers go!" The man of magma glanced to the side. "Take a good look."

"Hey! Wait!" Ace shouted throwing himself forward to stop the marine from attacking the fire fist's brother. "Luffy!"

For a moment everything went quiet. A silence had descended as everyone struggled to see what happened to the three. Then as the smoke, formed from the heat of the marines attacked cleared everyone grew more shocked still.

"Eh?" Luffy unconsciously sounded out, hardly believing the sight before him.

All around whitebeard pirates were gaping and staring at the scene.

A stray spark fell to the vivre-card and it hissed softly as it transformed into black ash.

Red pearls knocked together.

A soft breeze caused loose fabric to stir.

Metal rang softly.

"Seems I got here just in time." The voice broke through the calm that had fallen and suddenly the fighting resumed. Luffy could only stare. There was no possible way…

Ace felt an ache as he stared at the fist which he had been prepared to defend his brother from, a hit someone else had blocked before it could harm either of them. Truly for this man to be here, it must be a miracle…

The marine retracted his hand into a more battle ready stance. The man before him had deflected a blow meant to kill, that wasn't supposed to be possible for a man with a 120'000 beli bounty to stop such a blow.

Vary he regarded this new arrival.

"Luffy. Ace. Get moving." Gritting out the words the man lovered his smoking swords into a ready position.

"And you?" Ace questioned. A grim smile.

"I'll hold him of." Lifting his arms the swordsman shifted into a better position, ready to start circling his pray. Earrings knocking together to produce a soft metallic sound. Nodding Ace turned to his exhausted brother, picking him up.

"Let's move." Luffy tried to struggle.

"But Ace! We can't leave him!" Still, the struggle was of no use for the rubber-man was out of streangth.

"Come on Luffy." Trust in him. Trust your nakama. Lying on Ace's shoulder Luffy could not turn his gaze away from the ensuring battle. There was disbelief still in his heart, his mind was foggy with fatigue and his body refused to move any further, the adrenaline having lost the battle with his worn battle the moment the swordsman turned up.

Shipps clashed, somewhat distant Luffy realized he was being protected by Ace's crew and comrades. That Vancow was helping, that buggy was somewhere around. Whitebeard was holding a line, hindering any marine from getting to the ships in the harbor. And yet…

…the only thing Luffy could concentrate on was his Nakama, swords flashing against read hot magma, golden earrings shining in the setting sun and green hair wild.

"Zoro." And then the world went dark.

An: Soo long ago I wrote something! Sorry. Just reread parts of One piece (and fanfiction, try "second wind" by The-lost-samurai), I wondered what would happen if Zoro had turned up at the battle. Would he change anything? Would he die instead of Ace? How would Luffy react? Would Luffy know Zoro gave up his life for him (again)?

…might continue this, but not at the moment. Nothing is proofread either, so feel free to point out mistakes. Not too sure of Zoro's bounty at after thriller bark either. I love criticism!

Bye!
