Proviso/Disclaimer: I do not own "The Labyrinth", it is the work of Jim Henson & Co ©. I do however write Fan fiction based on it. It is for fun only.
"Good Enough"
Summary: My will is as strong as yours, my kingdom as great. This was no lie; she had sought out the labyrinth to win back her baby brother, and win, she did. She had also won a heart as well.
Epilogue: Hearts bound by thorns
It had been about five years after defeating the labyrinth, at the time Sarah was a mere child, a young teenager who had practically been enslaved to babysit for Karen, her step mother. Sarah did love Toby, which was her reason for not allowing herself to 'whom', and to what she truly wanted. At the time, she really didn't understand his offerings, if she had then; everything would have probably turned out differently. As four and three quarters of years passed by, Sarah had become quite the stunning woman; after all she was soon to turn twenty. She had been living at home far too long, and had decided it was time to move on after graduating high school. Sarah was quite a major in literature. She had made her earning's from and upper class bookstore as a manager, and also writing her own slew of books in her free time. She had moved out just after her nineteenth birthday, to an upper class neighborhood, about an hour from her family.
The apartment itself was huge, being two bedrooms, two bathrooms, a dining room, living room, a quite large kitchen, and an attic, and small room with a washing machine, and dryer. For her age, she had it pretty good. The Attic was huge, and for some reason she made that her bedroom, complete with yet another bathroom, making it a huge master bedroom. All of her closets were walk ins. Some were so large you could almost fit a bed in them, and sleep.
Sarah had lost all of her baby fat, and was now 5'6, very slender, she had the usual hour glass figure. 36C bust, size zero pant size, round apple buttocks. Her legs were long. She no longer had freckles, but a rather fair, pale complexion. Her eyes were big, long lashes. Her eye color resembled a fresh cut kiwi, with a mixture of silver on the outskirts of her irises.
Most guys who dared to approach her, were just as easily turned down, it would seem that her heart belonged to someone else. A certain someone, who had watched over her for almost her entire life, though she was not aware she had always felt "him", watching her.
Linda, her true mother had passed away only recently. She had sent Sarah almost five hundred thousand dollars, and a sealed envelope. It was sealed with wax, and was thick. Sarah wanted to wait until she turned twenty in a month to open it.
Jareth had been left with a broken heart and a bruised ego. He was now High King of the Seelie, and ruler of the entire underground. His birth parents had also passed away. His mother decided to kill herself, after her husband had been murdered. It was usually against to Fae court to crown a new high king, unless he was betrothed. In his case it was an exception. He was still very much the goblin king, and still resided in his castle, but being so, he only had three months to take a wife, and rule both kingdoms, and produce an heir. Jareth had looked the same as he did. Long soft blonde strands' cascading to his shoulders, while on top were ruffled spikes.
It seemed that Jareth had become so soft, so vulnerable, just so broken after she bested him, and said the words. Even the goblins worried for him, as well as Sarah's' old friends. He knew on her 20th birthday, he would be able to appear to her in human form, but would she just hurt him again?
