"Finn, this one, this one!" Rachel said as she pointed excitedly to the teacup chiuaua.
"There is no way in hell that we're getting a dog that's smaller than my foot, Rach." He sighed as he looked at the other dogs behind the display window in the pet store.
"But Finn she's so precious! Look at her little nose and OH MY GOD she's wagging her tail at me! We have to get her, please Finn, please?"
"Oh c'mon Rach! She's, like, weird looking! Look at her beady eyes and she's so…bald!" He said, scrutinizing the dog. "How about that one? That is my kind of dog." He said, pointing at a bulldog that was laying in it's cage, staring blankly ahead, some drool dripping out the side of his mouth.
Rachel looked at her fiancee with a raised eyebrow, "And you're calling the chiuaua ugly? Finn that is the ugliest dog I've ever seen." She told him, crossing her arms.
He smiled down at her and bumped her shoulder with his, "You're just mad that my dog could eat your dog for breakfast."
Rachel gasped and hit his shoulder with her palm, "Finn, that's terrible!" she giggled out.
Finn wrapped his arm around her waist and leaned down to kiss just below her ear, "You love me though." He whispered to her.
"Yeah, unfortunately." She said back to him with a wink. "Now let's pick a puppy. So..no chiuaua and no ugly bulldog."
"Okay…" Finn trailed off as he looked through the selection of dogs.
The couple stood there, staring at the dogs for a good five minutes before they got annoyed.
"I don't really like any of them, they're cute but, I don't know…" Rachel trailed off tapping her finger against her lip.
"Yeah I know what you me-" Finn started to say but he was cut off by a bark. He turned his head just as one of the pet store workers was coming out of the back room with a furry bundle in her arms. The dog had big brown eyes and fluffy blonde fur and it was about the size of one of Finn's boots but it was possibly the cutest thing he'd ever seen.
The woman was just passing by Finn when he stopped her, "Uh, excuse me ma'am but is that puppy for sale?"
"Yes he is, sir! Just got him in this mornin' and he is mighty friendly! Wanna check him out?" the woman asked the couple.
Finn turned to Rachel with a hopeful look in his eyes, "Can we, Rach?"
She just smiled at him and nodded her head.
The pet store worker brought them into a little closed off area in the back of the store where they could get to know the puppy before they purchased it and she set the dog down, closing the latched door behind her and leaving the two alone with him.
Soon enough the puppy was running back and forth between them, jumping up and down, begging to be picked up and loved.
It only took them 10 minutes to make a decision and 20 more to leave the store with their brand new Labrador puppy, Drizzle.
