They asked him why he would give up his dream to be immortal. To sail the seas for eternity.
The questions kept coming, and he never responded, never spoke of his reasoning behind the most selfless thing he'd ever done.

"Why did you do it Jack? Why give up immortality for Will? You hand him to Becket or Jones without a second thought, and then you make him immortal. Why?"
Silence settles in the cottage, Elizabeth and her son waiting for Jack to answer.
