14AmyChan: Long story short: Bubba's birthday today, so I thought I'd write him a story. Sorry it turned out so fluffy… ^^;

Kallen: She doesn't own us or Code Geass.

As the sun began to wan, its last rays of light hit a small field. In the diamond shape stood a girl whose hair looked as if it were set ablaze in the fading light. With sweat on her brow and a workout suit clothing her, she swung at the air with a titanium baseball bat repeatedly. Rhythmically, steadily, and each swing as powerful as the last, the girl swung aimlessly.

"How are you supposed to hit a ball when there's nothing there?" a voice penetrated her forced concentration. Disgruntled at being interrupted, the girl's eyes wandered to the speaker, a boy her age with black hair and a thin frame. He had not yet changed out of his high school uniform, which was odd for this time of day.

"No one to practice with," the girl responded as she resumed her swinging. She was now keenly aware of the boy's presence and it made her swing falter ever-so-slightly. Anyone less than an observing genius would have noticed it. Regrettably for her, he was.

"Kallen, you're swinging it wrong," the boy informed her as he walked to her side. With every step he took towards her, she could feel her cheeks begin to flush. In her flustered state, she simply continued to swing.

"You have a lot of balls, Lelouch?" Kallen asked with her usual stinging tone; a challenge and a literal question. When the boy appeared in her range of vision with a sports bag on his side, the question answered itself.

"You're treating the bat like a tool," Lelouch noted, choosing to ignore her jab and reach inside his bag for a baseball. Without a word of warning, he tossed the ball over. Instinctively, she swung at it.

Crack! The ball made impact with the bat, but the result was less than satisfactory. The ball flew straight up in the air, and when it came down, it landed not two feet behind her. She knew it was there and didn't bother to look at it. Instead, she glared at the boy who had thrown her the ball.

"Hold the bat like an extension of your arm," Lelouch instructed, using his arm as an example. He stretched it out to his side, then bent at the elbow, and swung with his arm. "If you just treat it like a tool, you're never going to get it to do what you want."

Kallen took his words without a single comment. She simply glared at him as he reached in his bag and pulled out another ball. He pitched it properly this time and Kallen swung, trying the boy's advice.

Crack! The ball soared well over Lelouch's head, and Kallen could see a pleased smile on his face. Fighting a smile herself, she walked over to him and shoved the bat in his gut.

"Thanks," she muttered as he picked up his ball case. He smiled and walked beside her as he walked her home. When they reached her house, he handed her back the bat. Surprised, she took it without really knowing why. Wordlessly, she nodded at him and walked inside. Once in her room, she simply stared at the bat. Until she noticed a note in the handle. As she read it, she smiled at the challenge.

You. Me. Arcade tomorrow. You game?

14AmyChan: okay, so I don't really like this pairing, and they kind of seem to be a bit of a competitive pairing to me, so that's why I wrote it this way. I'M SORRY IT'S SO FLUFFY, BUBBA! I HOPE YOU LIKE IT!
