He laid there, thinking, with his mp3 player on.
Has it only been three days since his father confined him in his bedroom? It felt like years. Years since he saw his friends at Shirokin, years since he saw Yankumi.
At least being confined had its perks of being able to think in silence. But with every second that he was there inside his bedroom his frustration grew tenfold.
As well as with his boredom.
Shin tried everything he could to get out. He tried breaking down the door, but it didn't work. (Shin suspected that his father had replaced the door before his bodyguards kidnapped him back to this house.) He tried jumping out the window. (In the end he didn't because there were bodyguards everywhere patrolling, day and night.)
Shin felt that he was a prisoner. He was trapped inside this stupid house and all he wanted was to go back to Shirokin.
His friends…Shin had wondered about them. He frowned surely they had heard that he was under house arrest by now. His desk would be empty, but he would not be forgotten. Were they planning to come rescue him?
He then chuckled, as he thought about how Yankumi would probably eavesdrop on their conversation and tell them not to do anything rash. Would she rescue him?
There was a knock on his door.
"You have a visitor Shin." The bodyguard outside called.
The door opened and there stood Yankumi with a frown on her face.
His prayers were answered.
She came and went. Yankumi had left him with a math test that they had earlier that day.
It was strange, but he didn't want to do it yet he felt complied to do so. He knew that this was his chance to get out of Shirokin and transfer to a better school just as his father wanted. But for some reason when Yankumi just came he knew what he wanted.
His mind was much more clear.
He started to work on the math test.
"Hehe…You know shouldn't it be the other way around?" Yankumi asked Shin. She was perched on the other side of his balcony from where he stood. "The guy rescuing the girl?"
"Shut up."
Fin.
This little one shot takes place during Shin's house arrest…I forgot the volume in the manga, but I believe it was around episode 8 of the anime.
