A little drabble in answer to Moonbeam's ' No Names' challenge.

Squall

"This is ridiculous."

"You're tellin' me." The swinging of the car was making him sea sick.

"Why are we here anyway?" there was a definite note of petulance.

"He asked, we..."

"Ask how high, then turbo boost through the proverbial hoop."

"Pretty much. You're causing the car to slide. Give her to me."

"No." was the immediate answer.

"Come on. I know how to drive through this stuff."

"I do as well."

"You have no experience," his voice was rising.

"Neither do you."

"Actually, yes I do. This is the one time I wish she was a stick."

"I beg your pardon."

"Give her to me and I'll show you."

"You're sure...?" came the hesitant query.

"Yes! Now hand her over." The 'Manual Cruise' light came on signifying his compliance. "Thank you. Now, watch and learn." Manually shifting the transmission, his driver proved that not only could he handle the car in a snow storm, he could easily swing the rear end back behind them when it slid past on black ice. Growing more confident, the back end was reduced to only small fish-tailing on the slippery surface.

"I'm impressed."

"It must have taken a lot for you to admit that." There was great humour intermingled with the callous comment. Silence greeted him. "Okay, I know, don't look a gift AI in the scanner??" This time something close to a snort responded.

"Just keep your eye on the road."

"I figure you'd prefer if I kept our tyres on the road - - wherever it might be."

"M....."

He cut off the warning before the AI could get his name out in that tone. "Okay, I'll shut up. Can you please tell me how much further I have to keep this up."

"Thankfully only another two miles."
